Making Scarecrows...

First off, let me say a huge THANKS to the wonderful organizer of our playgroup, Brandy at Adventures of a Flake, for setting this playdate up. I had been looking forward to it for a while and we really loved our final product.

Aislinn stuffing the "head".

It was a little harder than it looks. I ended up doing the head stuffing. LOL

Julian drawing his "scary" face.
Onto the task of actually stuffing the scarecrow.

Julian dancing with his scarecrow.

Most of the kids snuck in some hay time play.

Look how cute, they are holding hands LOL

Monster Hands

We went to another PAL'shouse to make scary monster hands.

Healthy Recipe Playdate

We went to our PALS' house to exchange recipes of healthy food. I forgot to take a pic of the healthy food, but I got one of Julian eating a carrot.

Musical Mania

My son, Julian, loves music and loves playing in his own band. So I came up with an idea of hosting a musical playdate in my home and invited our PALS. We made several instruments, played in a band, and danced to different music.

Miss A* was decorating her tambourine.

They also made Maracas and egg shakers.

Julian playing the drums with a paint can.

We call these noise makers.

Letter Oo

I'm beind again! Here it goes:

A few weeks ago I hosted a Letter Oo playdate in my home.
We ate Oo foods, Octupus hotdog, oreos, oatmeal cookies, onions (fried), Oh's cereal

Then they glued Oatmeal to the letter Oo.

Leaves.....

This was a cute little way to further emphasize the letter L to them.

They went out front and picked up leaves and glued them to the L.

Lava Experiment

Today we are busy, busy, busy. NO TIME TO BE BORED!
Julian and A watched a couple of videos on YouTube of volcano's spewing Lava and their interest was peaked. So I decided to go forward with the science experiment. Thanks Brandy for the instructions.
So while A took a nap, Julian made the volcano part of it.

Ms. C making her own little volcano :)

Before they poured the "lava" we talked about how when Lave is very hot it flows faster and when it is cold it flows very slowly. I demonstrated this by pouring hot and cold syrup onto an inclined plate. They guessed which one was flowing faster.
Between the two of them, they decided Jules would pour the lava......

The eruption of Mt. Hillside!! LOL. They both jumped up and cleared the table. They weren't expecting the eruption like that.

Then, they discussed what happened and how cool it was.

L is for Laterns

Today, we painted Laterns as our Ll craft. They did really good and it kept them occupied longer than I thought it would. They are real working laterns that can be hung up in their rooms and lit with batteries.

Today was also C's first day.
She is so sweet and such a fun baby.
C made her own latern and got her hands in a little pink paint.

Their finished product.

Kk Playdate

This is the Kk playdate that we hosted. We had kids ages 4 and under and we did everything with an emphasis on the letter Kk.

Here I am pointing out different words that start with K.

Here we are reading Won't you be my Kissaroo?

I'm trying to get Julian to eat a Kiwi.
The thing is he likes them, but of course, he wanted to be "cute" for the camera.

We made K's out of plumping pipe.
It a great inexpensive way to create #'s, letters and shapes.

Miss B is all smiles.

This was a great game of Joey, Joey, Kangaroo (Duck, duck, goose). After this the kids climbed into pillow cases and jumped around like kangaroos.

We also painted the Letter Kk with Koolaid. This was really fun for the kiddos.
